Happy Thanksgiving & a Few Good Reads

Time has been funny this year. Between missing a month of life in the US while we were in Kenya, our move to Virginia and finding out we are having a baby, it feels like my mental calendar has been hijacked. If you told me it was July right now, I wouldn't question you. I keep having momentarily panicked thoughts, worrying I've missed someone's birthday, forgetting it was actually four months ago.

Needless to say, Thanksgiving has completely snuck up on me! It will be our first Virginia holiday and I feel so excited not to be staying put. I haven't done that since high school! At the same time, though, I know I will miss going home to Indiana and seeing my extended family. I am thinking now would be a great time to learn to teleport and/or get everyone in my life to relocate to be my neighbor. If anyone has any suggestions on how to do either of these things, I'm very much open to ideas. :)

I always think the holidays are such a great time to snuggle up with a good book, so I thought I'd share a few recent reads.

Recently readHillbilly Elegy. I loved this book! The writing is excellent and it offered insight into a world I knew so little about. I read through it really quickly and thought about it for weeks to come. I highly recommend!

Halfway throughIna May's Guide to Childbirth. I waited until the second trimester to start any pregnancy books. Y'all! There is so much to learn. I'm trying not to get overwhelmed and to remember to take it one step at a time. I love reading the natural birth stories in this book and am learning so much.

Just started: Truly Madly Guilty. You already know I'm a huge Liane Moriarty fan and I'm so excited to dive into this one. I'm only 90 pages through but am already hooked. It took about 50 pages for me to warm up to it, but now, it's a page turner.

Next up: Wonder. I am generally not much of a movie goer, but I am so excited to see this over the holidays. I'm determined to read the book first, though. Has anyone else read it yet? I can't wait.

Happy reading and have the best Thanksgiving!
