lucky at lucky fest

On multiple occasions, my friends have visited my parents’ home (especially at 100 Willow) and were baffled because the house was locked. Growing up, we operated with a revolving door, where it was a rare occasion that just our little (or not so little?) family of seven was home.

This weekend I experienced why my mom loved having this kind of home. Friday night, Katie and Sara arrived. In addition, my cousin and his two friends were driving through Atlanta, en route to Fort Lauderdale. Roomie Katie’s boyfriend was also in town with his puppy. Which means where were four girls, four boys and two dogs shacking up in our humble abode. And I loved it! Did we have any food left Saturday morning? No. Was every blanket, bed, couch and floor space in use? Yessir. It was the best slumber party ever!

The rest of the weekend continued with a stream of happiness. Katie and Sara and I went to an estate sale Saturday morning, where my roommate Katie found a new kitchen table (whoop!).

We then walked to Pier 1, where we found a new rug for the kitchen, too. If you saw three girls walking 1.5 miles down Monroe with a rug in tow, it was us. I’m ashamed to admit that my arms were sore the next day.

After that, we went to Lucky Fest and a cookout, where we basked in the goodness of the weather and being together. Katie somehow managed to get us on stage to sing with the band. The exact sequence of events as to how this happened is kind of a blur, but I’m sure the video will go viral before we know it… :)

My only complaint from the weekend is that it was too short, especially since we lost that hour Saturday night. Looks like we better plan another visit soon. Oh! I love my fraynds!
