It's finally starting to feel like fall in Virginia. My ideal temperature for life is hotter than hot, so it always takes me a bit of time to adjust to crisp October.
This fall has been one for the record books. Between our move and home renovation, The Letter Project really taking off and doing long distance with Chris, it's felt crazier than ever. Most days, I feel like I'm not doing anything well enough - always 15% behind on everything - but I'm trying to speak back to that little voice, reminding myself that transitional seasons are always chaotic. I'm also constantly remembering that all of these changes are incredible, so even if they feel messy, they're really exciting.
I thought I'd share a few things I'm loving as I adjust to fall weather. Besides, of course, the very obvious one: candy corn.
To drink: Lately, I've gotten into steeping apples in hot water and adding honey and cinnamon as an afternoon drink. It feels a little bit like cider, without all the sugar. Pair it with Johnnyswim and a wide open window that let's the afternoon air breeze through, and you've got the perfect fall vibe. (PS it tastes better than it looks!)
To eat: My sister introduced me to this Chana Masala recipe, which I'm loving. She puts it over rice with spinach and avocado. It's delicious (and I don't generally love curry). My mom and I are making it tonight.
To use: I also discovered BeautyCounter's CounterMatch lotion. With the shifting season, my skin always, always dries out like crazy. This is saving it! It adjusts to themoisture levels your face needs and I don't have any dry skin yet. (Not an affiliate link.)
Also, I recently shared that The Letter Project is officially a 501c3. If you're looking for a low commitment way to help support the endeavor, I'd love it if would set us as your Amazon Smile organization. Anytime you purchase anything from Amazon (if you start at smile.amazon.com), they'll give TLP a percentage of your purchase at no cost to you. Thank you :)
Happy Monday, friends!
