On Jen Hatmaker's podcast, she always asks people what is saving their life right now. To me, this question is perfect. It acknowledges (in a fun, light way) a truth: life can be kind of hard and we all need help sometimes.
I always wonder if, in the moment, I'd say something real like prayer or my family or remembering to breathe. Or would I blurt out something super honest like coffee? :)
So far during pregnancy (hello, third trimester!) there are a few things that are saving my life. I thought I'd share for any of you pregga readers out there.
Prenatal yoga // I just started doing this and cannot recommend it enough. When I leave, I feel like a zenny queen. The class makes me feel so cared for and understood. Also, they offer great tips for birthing and really help open up your hips. I suggest finding a studio, as opposed to going at a gym. Basically: treat yo'self - the ambiance is worth it :)
Boppy Body Pillow // I had a regular body pillow and I thought it was nice. And thennnn a friend gave me the Boppy version. Holy cow! It's a game changer. The u-shape allows for so many levels of support. I twist it one hundred different ways to wrap around my body. It has helped so much!
Lululemon Align Pants // Most non-maternity yoga pants are uncomfortable and too constricting by this point. The Align pants? Not this way! They are so comfortable and I've been told they go back to their original shape even after months of pregnant wearing. Dream pants. And, although they are pricey, they're worth the cost.
Sleep for Success! by Dr. Maas Side Sleeper Pillow // I have loved this pillow for years, but am a new-level of obsessed now. It's wonderful for the required side-sleeping during pregnancy. I clench my jaw at night and have had some lower back pain, which makes a good mattress/pillow combo essential right now. The sleep doc knows!
