cleanliness, godliness, busyness

Yesterday on the way in to work, I asked my dad what his weekend plans were. He told me I was premature, considering it was not even 7 a.m. on Wednesday.

However, today! Today, people! It's Thursday! And it's completely appropriate to talk about the weekend, because there is just one tiny day keeping us from touching it.

We've been a little overextended in the office lately, to the point that when I get home at night, my brain is fried and I can't think of anything clever to say on here (see yesterday's post). Today, my coworker was telling me she was feeling the same way, and that she was struggling to find time for basic tasks, such as washing her hair. Somewhat of an obsessive showerer, I didn't fully relate, but it made me glad to know we're in this boat together - albeit a stinky one.

I'm very much looking forward to a bit of mindlessness this weekend. I'm not quite sure where I'll find it, but I'm bound and determined to make it happen. Preferably in Piedmont Park.

But for now, we press on! Here's to hoping for some hair washing time today. Happy Thursdee!

bright&happy thursday

Am I in trouble? This morning I thought: I'm kind of ready for spring clothes...

I haven't even worn tights yet this season! I've barely even busted out my favorite cardis! I've still got piles of layers to work through...!

Although, I think it's more just a matter of wanting to wear bright colors - whether it be a kini or a coat need not matter.

So today, clad in a coral belt and neon headband, I greet you with a little extra spring in my step. Here's to a neon November!

Oh man. How much do these pencils make you want to color!?

whimsical wednesdays {nesting}

I am moving to Atlanta in eight days! Now that I'm officially relocating and living by myself, in my very own, single, all mine, apartment, I've really caught the nesting bug.

The other day, I went to Anthropologie, and didn't even look at the clothes. I spent the whole time in the at home section.  My entire focus has shifted.

My budget is slightly resricted (!). Fortunately, my parents are very generously allowing me to take furniture and decor from our old house. They've basically outfitted my entire apartment with adorable items I would not have otherwise been able to afford.

Had they not so kindly gifted, I'd probably be scrambling to determine how to decorate.  If I were starting to outfit a home for the first time, I'd be lusting after some of these lovely spaces...

Aren't they beautiful?

What's even more fulfilling than looking at all of these chic homes, though, is my favorite new website, Thursdays.  As one who is just starting my own place, I've become addicted to their easy recipes, crafts, and ideas.  On a shoestring budget, simple DYIs are just what I need.

My favorite part about the site? The Thursday night dinners that served as the company's inspiration were held while the creators were in college at Indiana University.  Nothing warms my heart quite like supporting fellow Hoosiers does.
